Synopsis:
Third Grade Spanish is deeply integrated with what students study in their core courses throughout the school year. Students have the opportunity to build a strong vocabulary foundation around categories that include botany, biomes, landforms and rain forest creatures of South America.
Practice in writing, key phrases, and commands are also taught throughout the year.
Students also take a brief look at immigration of Hispanics in our immediate area and take an in-depth look at famous Cuban-Americans and their contributions to our society. The lives of Celia Cruz & Desi Arnaz are highlighted in this unit.
In 3rd Grade Spanish, students should expect to have a little bit of homework! It is helpful if students review material learned in class with a parent or sibling even when no homework is given.
