Monday - Work on our free verse poems for our walking in their shoes character.
Wednesday - Begin putting together our game boxes for Plaza Road Preschool.

Monday - Read The Story of Ruby Bridges by Dr. Robert Coles.
Tuesday - Journal about the people we learned about in Ruby's life including Ruby. Focus on putting ourselves in other people's shoes.
Wednesday - Interview a member of our class about their feelings, their strengths, their weaknesses, and what its like to live a day in their shoes.
Thursday - Write a free verse poem about the class member we interviewed. Begin writing a free verse poem about the character we developed to fill the shoes we picked out.
Friday - No Class. Trip to Levine Museum.
March 31-Apr. 4
Monday - With a partner, research events on page 55 of Ruby Bridges.
Wednesday - Present presentations on the event that you researched.
Friday - Write individually about what you have learned about these events.

Wednesday - Finish our "Sneetches"-style poem and illustration. Begin writing our first person point of view stories on prejudice.
