Welcome to Music!!

Instructor: Sandi Rosen

 

Class Overview

 

Supplies Needed for class EVERY DAY (unless otherwise specified by Ms. Rosen)

*2 Pencils and 2 different color highlighters (NO PENS)

*Computer

*Headphones

*Your music journal will stay in the classroom daily. If Ms. Rosen gives you permission to take it home, it must be returned to your grades music journal box the next class period.

Project 1 requirements: due Friday September 26th

 

Windows:using Sony ACID

     - compose a piece at least 1 minute no more than 3 minutes using the loops and samples. (CANNOT BE UNDER 1 MIN)

     -you must have at least 5 tracks with different loops/samples in each track

     -the piece must flow

 

MAC: using GarageBand

     - compose a piece at least 1 minute no more than 3 minutes using the loops and samples. (CANNOT BE UNDER 1 MIN)

     - you must have 6 different tracks/tracklines

          -one track should use either a track from iTunes OR it can be a free track (using whatever you want... keyboard, your own voice, a friends voice, an instrument, sample, loops, etc.)

          -three of the tracks must use 3 different loops (one loop per track) **you may do more than 3 loop tracks, the minimum is 3)

          -two of the tracks needs to use samples from GoogleDrive OR create your own line using the digital instruments and record the sounds using the keyboard. (example: instead of using the different drum sounds from GoogleDrive, you could use the built in drum set in GarageBand and use the keyboard on the screen to record the different sounds.

     **MOST OF ALL.... IT MUST FLOW!!!!**
