Algebra II Grade Determination

I. Tests

• Chapter assessment for each chapter covered.

• Comprehensive tests that cover a group of chapters studied up to that point.

• I will announce all tests in advance.

• Tests are worth 100 points each; the final exam is worth 200 points.

II. Quizzes

• A quiz for every 2 – 4 sections covered, each worth approximately 8 -20 points.

• I will announce all quizzes in advance.

III. Homework and Class Participation

• Anticipate homework Monday through Friday.

• We will begin most homework assignments in class.

• I will evaluate homework for effort and completeness, not accuracy.

• Students must show their work on problems to receive full credit.

• We will correct homework and answer questions in class.

• Students will begin each trimester with 50 homework/participation points.

IV. Portfolio Projects and Activities

• All activities assigned in the Portfolio requirements for each trimester along with a reflection/summary page for each project.

• Portfolio projects will be worth 50 – 100 points each.

V. Trimester Grade

• Determined by adding all the points the student has earned and dividing by the total points possible.

• Students should keep track of their progress on their grade record sheet.
