Woodlawn School Spanish Club
Open to all Middle and Upper School Students.
The Spanish Club attends events, festivals, performances and other organized activities related to the Spanish-speaking culture throughout the school year.
Depending upon what is going on, we try to attend one event per month.
Parents are invited to attend all events, but may also leave their child with me during specified times.
Spanish Club Officer Positions for the 2009-10 school year:
President - Tori Rinker
'Meet and greet' point person for all scheduled events, creates Events Agenda making decisions on upcoming events & activities.
Communications Coordinator - Hailey Sherman
Sends out emails to members, makes phone calls when necessary, coordinates "advertising" around campus of each scheduled event.
Members Coordinator - This position has not been filled.
Coordinates all phone numbers and emails for Spanish Club members, recruits new members.

2009 EVENTS:
Latin American Festival
In its 11th year, this festival is the largest cultural fest in Charlotte with food, live music and dance, arts and hand-made crafts.
Sunday, October 11. Noon - 7:00pm. Free admission is $5. Symphony Park at Southpark Mall.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival
This spiritual Mexican holiday is celebrated with cultural displays, food, music and dance at the Levine Museum of the New South.
Sunday, November 1. Noon - 4:00pm. Free admission! 200 E. 7th Street, Uptown Charlotte.

In its 5th year, Pura Vida Worldy Art celebrates with live music, food, art and photography.
Saturday, October 24, 7:00pm. Free Admission. Pura Vida Boutique, 1521 Central Ave. in the historic Plaza-Midwood Neighborhood.

Passionate Journey: The Grice Collection of Native American Art
Featuring native American pottery, Mayan weavings, and Mexican performance masks.
Now through Oct. 17 at the Mint Museum of Art. 2730 Randolph Rd. Free every Tuesday after 5:00pm. $5 for kids 5 -17, $10 for adults.
