Fifth Grade Overview

Big Question: How do people make a difference in our world?

Culminating Project: Throughout the year, in all subject areas, students investigate this question,"What is the world made of?" By the end of their 5th grade year, they have a better understanding of this wondrous and varied place we call home, the physical elements that make up the world, and what the world has to offer. But beyond the geography, geology, and cultures, they also learn about human responsibility for the Earth, and recognize themselves as stewards. Applying what they have learned throughout the year in all of the subject areas, the 5th grade students educate the public about being responsible, and caring for the Earth. Reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink.
