On-Campus Printing

Woodlawn has several printers on its wireless networks.

Wireless Printers

We have several wireless printer/copiers (one each in Carriage House South, Garden Shed South, Klein Hall, Jackson Hall, Woods Hall, and two more in Van Buren Hall).  To print to these printers, you must first install the driver that is appropriate for your computer.  Go to the Brother software download page for the printer model MFC-7840W.  Once there, choose the appropriate operating system and language, then download and install the driver software (specifically, the "CUPS Printer Driver") to your computer.  You should then be able to see the wireless printers in your print dialog.

To install the driver for the duplex printer located in Woods Hall, go to the Brother software download page for the printer model HL-5370DW.  Once there, choose the appropriate operating system and language, then download and install the driver software.

Printers Shared from a Desktop Mac

To print to the Stinson Hall printer, you must be on a Mac.  You will see this printers in your print dialog when you choose "Shared Printers" from the menu near the top.  If you do not see Shared Printers in your print dialog, and you are running Mac OS X 10.5 or above, then you may need to do the following (you only need to do this once):

1 - click on this link:  http://localhost:631/admin?op=config-server

(On newer systems, you may get an error when you do this.  If so, just click on the Home tab, then the Administration Tab, then the "Edit configuration file" button)

2 - below the line that says "# Show shared printers on the local network" type "BrowseProtocols all" and a return

3 - now that part of the page should read:

# Show shared printers on the local network.

BrowseProtocols all

Browsing On

BrowseOrder allow,deny

BrowseAllow all

4 - click the Save button, enter your username + password and you should now see all the shared printers.

5 - if you don't see them in your print dialog, you may need to click on "Add Printer" and add them one at a time (you'll only need to do this once).
