It's hard to believe that the final week of school is upon us!  It has been a pleasure teaching each and every one of the 3rd grade students.  They have worked so hard this year and have been so eager to learn.  I couldn't be more proud of all of their growth and accomplishments!

The focus of these last few days of school will be wrapping up our Countries Around the World project.  Students will be writing summaries of the projects that they have created and will be presenting to the 2nd and 4th grade class on Wednesday.  Students will be bringing their projects home on Wednesday so you can see what they have created!

In math we will be ending the year with some geometry and graphing and a final cumulative review.  It will give you an idea of what students can work on this summer to be fully prepared for 4th grade.  Students will also finish their biome projects as well.

Some recommendations for summer (after a nice break from schoolwork of course!)

-Finish the Daily Grammar book.  They have about 70 days left in their books.  This is a great review before they start 4th grade.

-Complete the cumulative reviews in both math workbooks.  This will serve as a good review and will prepare them for next year.

-Continue practicing multiplication facts!

Have a great week and a wonderful summer!  See you next year!

I hope that everyone had an enjoyable long weekend with friends and family!

Students finished publishing their immigration photo journals last week and they look great!  We look forward to sharing them with parents at our final portfolio viewing this Thursday.  This week we will be diligently working on our Countries Around the World project.  Students will be using their creativity to represent special aspects of their countries and we will be presenting the projects to the 2nd and 4th grade classes next Wednesday.  Students will be writing short summaries to explain their projects and the significance they have for their country.

In math students have been learning about angles (right, acute, obtuse) and lines (parallel and perpendicular).  We will continue learning about angles and lines and then move on to geometry.  Our final unit will be bar graphs and line graphs.  Students have only two timed tests left in the school year!  We are officially doing 100 facts in 3 minutes!

This Thursday will be our final service trip to 5th Street Ministries.  It's been a rewarding experience for everyone and students should be very proud of their efforts in helping those in need.

Have a great week!
